A Sacred Spark
Inside each of us, there’s something special, something holy. It’s always been there— a sacred spark of Divine Love.
As we recognize and honor the sacred spark in ourselves and in others, something powerful happens: We fan the flames of the dancing, Holy Fire —spreading peace, understanding, kindness, and unity wherever we go.
Recognizing and revealing the sacred spark is our spiritual practice.
Our Name – Malama Kekahi
Pronunciation: mah-LAH-mah keh-KAH-hee
Meaning: “To care for one another” (Hawaiian)
Recognizing and revealing the sacred spark is our spiritual practice.
The practice is straightforward:
- We notice the spark. We acknowledge the Divine nature in ourselves and in others. When we see someone struggling, we recognize their sacred spark and respond with compassion rather than judgment.
- We connect with it. We align ourselves with that sacred spark of Divine Love through prayer, meditation, our choices, and our actions.
- We respect it. We honor the sacred spark of Divine Love in everyone we meet and in all we think, say, and do.
Community Service
We consider community service an essential component of this spiritual practice of recognizing and revealing our sacred spark. As we serve others, nurturing our neighbors and our planet, amazing things happen: We grow. We heal. We remember our Oneness.
Why This Matters Right Now
The world we live in right now can feel overwhelming – heavy, dark and divided. Pain and disagreement seem to be everywhere.
Divine Love can fix what feels broken.
That’s powerful.
